Fatal Crash in Sumner Tunnel

According to Boston.com and State Police reports, one man was killed and two others were injured following a crash in the Sumner Tunnel early Friday morning.

According to reports, the single vehicle crash involved  2002 Dodge Ram pickup and occurred just after 3:00 a.m. after the truck lost control near the I-93 North ramp.

Sadly, this is one of several deadly crashes that have taken place in the Sumner and TIP O’Neill tunnels just over the past few years. From a legal perspective, even though this was single vehicle crash, there are several claims that could be brought against the driver of the vehicle inlcuding claims for negligence, wrongful death, loss of consortium and emotional distress. Also, depending on the facts, if alcohol was involved, there could be potential claims against the bar or night club establishment for over serving of alcohol.
