Teen Attacked by Dog in Revere

REVERE, Mass.— A 14-year-old boy who climbed into a fenced-in construction area near a Revere shopping center has been taken to a hospital in critical condition after he was attacked by two guard dogs.

Police say the boy and a 12-year-old companion entered a construction yard behind the Northgate Shopping Center at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday and were attacked by two Rottweilers.

The 12-year-old boy called police, who had to shoot one of the dogs. The dog was struck in the leg.

The other dog was kept at bay with a hose.

The youth was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. The dogs were taken to the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

A dog bite or other animal attack can cause serious and log lasting injuries, including scarring and disfigurement, secondary infection, emotional distress and psychological damage. These injuries can be even more severe when a child is the victim. If you were the victim in a dog bite attack, you may be able to obtain compensation for your injury. In most cases, the dog bite claim will be brought against the homeowner’s insurance company of the dog’s owner.
