Danvers Man Injured in Crash

This blog has reported on numerous occasions where Masscahusetts drivers have been injured in truck and motor vehicle accidents. Unfortunately, even the most cautious drivers can be vulnerable to catastrophic injuries and fatalities on the road.

A 35 year old Danver man is the latest victim. Police say the man suffered severe injuries after he crashed into a state dump truck on Interstate 95 yesterday morning was pulled out of his vehicle by a civilian just before it burst into flames. According to police, the dump truck had been clearing snow from the breakdown lane shortly before Exit 47 at the time of the accident.

It was unclear whether that civilian who rendered assistance was the driver of the dump truck or a passing motorist. All lanes of I-95 were briefly closed as firefighters extinguished the blaze which had engulfed the driver’s Jeep Wrangler shortly afte rhe was pulled from the wreckage.

Many factors such as excessive speed, sleepiness, carelessness or distraction from cell phone use or texting while driving can contribute to losing control of a vehicle. Additionally, a driver under the influence of alcohol or other substances can lead to serious accidents.
